Sleeping separately

My husband and I sleep in separate bedrooms…

No, we’re not getting divorced and we’re still very much in love, but we are getting MUCH better sleep.

Sleep is EXTREMELY important. Lack of sleep or low quality sleep has been shown to contribute to a myriad issues such as increased fat mass, decreased muscle mass, increased risk of disease, poor mental health, increased risk of injury and slowed cognitive development in adolescents.
Lacking a significant amount of sleep has even been shown to cause “drunk driving” like tendencies on the road.

Sleep affects literally everything. It affects performance… mental AND physical.

It affects your relationships.

It affects how you perceive and handle pain.

It affects your metabolism and insulin sensitivity.

It affects other hormones such as testosterone and cortisol.

Literally everything.

My husband and I are completely different sleepers so we made the decision to prioritize our sleep over what society thinks is “normal”. We still have our cuddle time at night and in the mornings 😉 but when it comes time for sleep… we sleep!

Are you getting enough, quality sleep?
